NE Buncombe Hollow Road - from the intersection with NE Etna Road

Repairs to NE Buncombe Hollow Road are complete, and is the road is now open to the public.

NE Ward Road/NE 172nd Avenue

NE Ward Road and NE 99th Street are open to through traffic; however it remains an active construction zone. At this time, NE 172nd Ave, between NE 99th Street and NE Ward Road is closed to through traffic. This project will construct a new intersection at NE Ward Road with NE 172nd Ave. Work is expected to extend into December, but the roads will be reopened as soon as possible. www.clark.wa.gov/ward.

 Fair Grounds Community Park - NW 164th Street between NW 11th Avenue and NW 10th Avenue

This project is nearing completion and traffic impacts are expected to be minimal from this point forward. The Park is not open at this time. 

NE 88th Street Construction from Andresen Road to St. Johns Road

Periodic lane closures will be in effect for road-side landscaping work. Please drive slowly through the construction zones. Project Web site: www.clark.wa.gov/88th.

SR 503, NE 119th Avenue at the Bowyer Market Place
Daytime lane shifts on SR 503 in both directions for construction activities between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Daytime right lane closures on southbound SR 503 for construction activities between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Water Main - 97th/98th Avenue, from Southeast Sixth Street to Burton Road

Construction for installation of a new water main has begun at Southeast Sixth Street and 97th Avenue and is working north. The project will install a new 24-inch water transmission main to improve overall water system efficiencies by increasing flow between the water station at Ellsworth Springs and Water Station 9 at Northeast 39th St. and 146th Avenue. Drivers should be cautious near construction areas and expect delays. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of November 2009.

West Eighth Street, Seventh Street and Grant Street

Construction continues on the City of Vancouver’s Sewer Line Relocation Project, which involves relocating 1,700 feet of a 36-inch-diameter concrete main sewer pipeline along West Eighth Street, between King and Grant streets; and along Grant Street, between West Sixth and Eighth streets. An 8-inch-diameter main is being installed along West Seventh Street, from Jefferson Street to 300 feet east. Regular construction hours are 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the option of extending to 8 p.m. as needed. Drivers are asked to be alert to changes to parking and traffic patterns and watch for flaggers. Lane closures and delays are possible. For safety, no parking will be allowed on streets where sewer line construction is occurring. This project is expected to be completed in November 2009. Northeast 15th Street and Northeast 162nd Avenue Intersection

Construction is under way on Northeast 15th Street and Northeast 162nd Avenue intersection improvements, including a new traffic signal, new left-turn lane for southbound traffic, and removal of portions of the center median on Northeast 162nd to allow full left and right turns from all regular traffic directions. Some fiber optic communication upgrades and stormwater improvements are also planned, as well as upgrading pedestrian access ramps to required ADA standards. Project completion is expected in late November 2009.

Southeast 10th and 12th streets, between about Southeast 98th and 103rd avenues

Southeast 10th and 12th streets will be closed to through traffic between Southeast 98th and103rd avenues from 7 a.m. to as late as 8 p.m., during construction periods through Nov. 13, for stormwater improvements and extension of the public sanitary sewer line. During the construction, emergency vehicles and local traffic will be allowed through, but the majority of traffic will be directed to St. Helen's Avenue to the north and Southeast 12th Street or Southeast 10th Street, depending upon the construction schedule, and to the south via local streets. The sewer project is part of the City of Vancouver’s Sewer Connection Incentive Program (SCIP). The contractor has 110 business days to complete the project.

Most activities are subject to good weather conditions. If it rains, work may be cancelled or rescheduled.

I-5 – SR 501 Ridgefield Interchange

Daytime intermittent flagging on SR 501 at the I-5 on-and off-ramps for trucks to entering and exiting the work zone between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Nighttime left lane closures both directions on I-5 for pre-construction activities between the hours of 6 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. 

I-205, Mill Plain – NE 112th Connector

Daytime short-duration lane and shoulder closures on I-205, ramps, and adjacent city roads for pavement striping activities between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is highly weather dependent.

Daytime flagging on northbound I-205 on- and off-ramps at Mill Plain Boulevard for trucks entering and exiting the work zone between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Daytime full closure of the new 112th Connector ramp final construction activities, Monday through Friday. The connector will be open to traffic from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

SR 14, Pedestrian Tunnel – City of Washougal

A temporary speed reduction is in place on SR 14 from 55 mph to 25 mph to allow the City’s contractor to construct a pedestrian tunnel underneath the highway. This speed reduction will remain in effect throughout the duration of the project. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling this stretch of roadway.   

Vancouver Rail – Rail Bypass and W. 39th Street Bridge
Daytime flagging at the intersection of W. 39th Street and Fruit Valley Road as crews perform utility installation and embankment work between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Note: The rail crossing at W. 39th Street is closed to all traffic for rail bypass construction.

I-5, Both directions at the SR 500 Interchange

Daytime intermittent shoulder closures for geotechnical work Monday through Friday.

I-5, Both directions at NE 63rd Street

Nighttime right shoulder closures for bridge inspections on Thursday.
