Betty Sue Morris (District 1) is a former Washington State Representative from the 18th legislative district and a former professional journalist. She was elected to her first four-year term on the board in November 1996. The term began on January 1, 1997. She had previously been appointed to fill the partial term of former Commissioner John Magnano.
Commissioner Morris has a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in education from the University of Portland, both with honors.
