Opening of Clark County Art Teachers exhibit, call for art by seniors
Vancouver, WA – The Clark County Arts Commission invites the public to a reception for artists whose work is exhibited in Clark County Art Teachers, a show now on display on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
Meet artists and commission board members during a 5:30-7:30 p.m. reception with light refreshments on Friday, Feb. 1. Music will be performed by Hudson’s Bay High School students.
On Feb. 1, the exhibit will be open 5-8 p.m. It highlights pieces by seven Clark County teachers who work in a variety of media, including printmaking, drawing, painting and collage. The exhibit runs through March. It can be seen between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.
Also, the Arts Commission is calling for art from Clark County seniors for the next exhibit. Submission guidelines are:
• Artist must be older than 55
• Two-dimensional work is framed with wire for hanging
• No nudity, political or religious content
To submit work, send up to four JPEG images with the works’ titles, medium or media, and value to firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28.
Entries will be juried and participants notified of the results by Saturday, Feb. 2.
