Board extends deadline for volunteer Arts Commission applicants

Vancouver, WA The Board of County Commissioners has extended the deadline for local residents applying to represent the business community on the Clark County Arts Commission.

The Arts Commission is made up of 11 volunteer members. Each participating city appoints one member and the Board of County Commissioners appoints three members representing the arts, arts education and business communities.

The four-year term became effective Jan. 1. The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. the last Thursday of the month on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

The arts board advises and collaborates with the county commissioners and city councils and reports accomplishments to the community. Members advocate for the arts in the community, at public hearings, budget hearings and other public forums.

Anyone interested in serving should submit a letter to Jennifer Clark, Board of Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver 98666-5000. Deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13. Applicants also may send information by email to
