This department provides services for people with mental illness or developmental disabilities and services for families and youth focused on reducing violence and substance abuse. Other services include assistance to veterans, weatherization, and emergency shelter.
These programs are almost entirely funded by state and federal grants and legally dedicated revenues. The majority of services are delivered through contracts with private community-based providers.
