Community Development Block Grant

The 2014 Request for Application is now closed.

Applications are released at the beginning of October for the following year's funding allocations. There is a mandatory pre-application that is due on October 31st and the final application is due by December 2nd. The Urban County Policy Board (UCPB) reviews the applications in January and applicants have the opportunity to present their Program applications to the board in February. The UCPB also visits the proposed Project application sites in February.

Selection and final recommendations for these funds are made by the Urban County Policy Board at their regularly scheduled meeting the second Monday in March. Contracts are intended to begin in August.

Cities/Towns/County:

  • Required Public Meetings: Each municipality or other public body must hold two public meetings prior to submitting its application:
  • Public Meeting #1: This meeting is to inform the community about CDBG program objectives and eligible activities and to solicit public comment on local needs and potential projects. 
  • Public Meeting #2: Before the applicant adopts and submits its proposed CDBG project, it must hold another public hearing to review the local needs and proposed projects. Proposed projects must be consistent with the Housing and Community Development Plan and local plans and community strategies. 
  • Submit information documenting authorization of submittal of the application by the City Council or Board of Commissioners, (e.g., a copy of the Council minutes and/or resolution).

 Nonprofit Agencies:

  • Required Public Meeting: Nonprofits proposing projects in specific cities must provide information about their project at a regularly scheduled City meeting before their application is submitted.
  • Submit information documenting authorization of submittal of the application by the Board of Directors.

 

HOME Investment Partnership Program

The 2014 Request for Application is now closed.

The Urban County Policy Board (UCPB) reviews the applications in January and applicants have the opportunity to present their Program applications to the board in February. An independent consultant also provides a feasibility analysis of each Project to the board in February.

Selection and final recommendations for these funds are made by the Urban County Policy Board at their regularly scheduled meeting the second Monday in March. Contracts are intended to begin in August.
