In traditional response systems, child victims are often bounced from one institutional setting to another. CJC provides a child-friendly atmosphere for children where professionals come together in one place to meet with the child and the family at the center. This reduces the number of times a child must tell their story of personal suffering and the CJC decorum promotes a child-centered psychological warmth that helps calm a child's fears. Law enforcement at CJC are required to wear plain clothes and perpetrators, or suspects involved in reports of abuse, are not allowed within the center.
