Everyone is at risk from flooding, even properties that are not located in floodplains. Floods can occur in areas designated at moderate or minimal flood risk. In fact, about 25 percent of all flood insurance claims occur in these areas. Knowing your flood risk will allow you to make decisions that will help protect your family and property against flood damage.
There are several ways to determine your flood risk.
- Access our online Property Information Center to identify your current flood hazard area and flood zone designation. Instructions are available below.
- Use Maps Online to view the preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps and determine how the proposed changes will affect your property when new maps are adopted. Instructions are below.
- Contact Mark Damon at (360) 397-2375 ext. 4258 or e-mail mark.damon@clark.wa.gov.
