Permit Services |
We are available to answer your questions about your property and get you started on the appropriate application process. We assist in determining the permits you will need to begin your project and provide information that will help you meet the application requirements. We then coordinate the review of your application with other divisions. Once your application is approved, we will issue your permit at our Permit Center.
If it isn't convenient for you to come downtown for service, you can visit our Battle Ground Office.
Check out current wait times in both the downtown Vancouver and Battle Ground locations.
Note: Starting May 1, 2008 we will accept only two building application submittals at one time. If you have multiple building applications please schedule an appointment by calling (360) 397-2375 ext. 4078.

* Limited hours on Wednesdays enables staff to become better educated about how to effectively meet customers' needs. Conducting these activities during normal business hours saves the department approximately $27,000 in overtime costs annually.
**Lunch schedules mean fewer people are available to provide service between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., so your wait may be longer during this period.

Permit Services |
Easy-to-use computer terminals provide information on the status of building permits, fire, plumbing and mechanical permits, land-use applications, subdivision location information, and copies of ordinances and resolutions. Related land-use information can be found elsewhere in the Public Service Center.
Handouts include general building permit and land use application information.
Zoning maps are now located in the Assessment and GIS Department on the second floor. Agendas for land-use hearings, staff reports for current planning projects, and copies of hearings examiner decisions are available on the third floors.
