In June 2005, Clark County transitioned to vote by mail elections. Registered voters are mailed their ballot, but Accessible Voting Units (AVU's) are also available at the Elections office. The new eSlate™ Accessible Voting Unit is a direct record electronic machine that allows voters with disabilities to vote in person, instead of returning a mailed ballot. For many voters, this machine will allow them to vote for the first time without the assistance of someone else.
