There are three port districts, each managed by a board of commissioners. The board is responsible for the development of port facilities including harbor improvements, docks and warehouses, as well as industrial development and recreational facilities. Commissioners run from commissioner districts and are elected at-large for overlapping terms. Camas-Washougal Port District commissioners, beginning in 1993, will be elected at-large for four-year terms. Ridgefield and Vancouver Commissioners are elected for six-year terms.
