Endangered Species Program

In response to the listings of threatened fish, Clark County has implemented an Endangered Species Program to address ESA requirements and develop a comprehensive salmon recovery strategy. The strategy involves cooperation among numerous groups, ranging from national, state, and local governments to citizen groups, Native American groups, the business community, environmentalists, and other organizations working together.

The program staff, which includes two full-time employees and one part-time employee, is developing a response to the 4(d) rule, working on salmon recovery issues and informing the public about ESA and salmon recovery issues. For more information on program activities see our Newsletters Web page.
