Klineline Pond

Vancouver/Clark Parks and Recreation will be monitoring the water in Salmon Creek Park's Klineline swimming pond beginning June 5 and every week throughout the summer for the presence of E. coli bacteria, to assure safe and healthy recreation for those who swim or play in the pond.

Why monitor Klineline pond?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), E-coli has been identified as the most common cause of diarrhea in humans. It causes watery diarrhea, with associated cramps and frequently a low-grade fever.

The pond will be considered no longer safe for swimming if water samples exceed 236 per 100 milliliter.

Sample results as of the latest sampling date show no violations of EPA standards for swimming beaches.
