The Washington Department of Health has prioritized Tobacco use as the number one preventable disease for our state. Under contract with the state, our local Public Health Tobacco Prevention and Education Program works with the Tobacco Free Coalition of Clark County to reduce tobacco use and eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke in Clark County. We do this by:
- Promoting the Washington State Quitline
- Working with Educational Service District 112 Tobacco Prevention and Intervention program to promote and support youth tobacco prevention activities such as Teens Against Tobacco Use, and State Department of Health sponsored youth prevention programs.
- Offering Alternative to Ticketing class for youth who have been cited for tobacco possession.
- Providing education about the hazards of secondhand smoke.
- Promoting smoke-free environments.
Kick Butts Day is April 2 - a great time to quit smoking!
