Clark County provides regular full-time and part-time employees with a comprehensive benefits package. Some types of employees in some positions and some bargaining units may have different benefits. General benefit information for most employees are:
Medical/Vision & Dental Insurance
Employees and eligible family members may choose from a variety of medical plans -- both traditional and HMO plans. Some plans may be fully paid by the county. In addition, two dental plans are available.
Paid Leave
Regular employees receive twelve observed holidays and/or "floating" holidays per year; paid vacation; and sick leave.
Flexible Spending Account
An IRS approved plan that allows employees to be reimbursed for health care and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
Life Insurance and Long Term Disability
Clark County provides Group Term life insurance to employees at no premium cost. Additional life insurance may be purchased for employees in increments of $10k up to $500k. Spouse and child coverage is also available. Disability insurance, also County paid, provides income protection in the event of non-work-related injury or illness that renders an employee unable to work.
Retirement and Deferred Compensation
Employees participate in the Washington State Public Employees' Retirement Plan. Employees may also elect to participate in a 457 deferred compensation plan.
Direct Deposit and Credit Union
Employees have the opportunity to choose direct deposit for their paychecks and may join Clarkco Credit Union.
