Project summary
Summer 2008

Team 99, a group of residents, businesses, and property owners, and Clark County are developing a sub-area plan to revitalize Highway 99 and neighborhoods nearby.

The plan will include a vision for the area, design standards, zoning, and targeted projects that can be built in the next six years. The plan will include a design framework based on General Principles (PDF - 23KB) established by the Board of Clark County Commissioners.

Work in progress: The Board of Clark County Commissioners met to review all four proposed alternatives with the Planning Commission's recommendation and the public comments from the May 6 and 8 Open Houses.  The BOCC made a decision to move Alternative 4: "Together We Travel-Mixed Use Transit Community" forward as the Preferred Alternative.

Team 99 and Clark County Planning Commission are completing a draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) that is comparing Alternative 1: "The Strip goes on - No Action" with Alternative 4: "Together We Travel-Mixed Use Transit Community" Preferred Alternative.

A draft SEIS will be made available for public input when completed. Team 99 has tentatively targeted the August 2008 for a SEIS Open House.

Once the environmental analysis is completed, the Planning Commission and Board will hold public hearings to consider whether the Preferred Alternative should be adopted as the official sub-area plan. If adopted, the sub-area plan would become part of the county's Comprehensive Growth Management Plan.
