The Clark County Planning Commission is appointed by the Board of Clark County Commissioners to make recommendations on legislative issues. The board ultimately makes the final decision. State statutes set forth the Planning Commission's role. The role of the Planning Commission is primarily legislative because they review policy proposals with general applicability and only occasionally those which could be considered quasi-judicial, or with specific applicability; i.e. annual review applications.
The Planning Commission consists of seven citizens appointed to four years terms by the Board of Clark County Commissioners. The commission serves as an advisory board to the Board of Clark County Commissioners on matters related to physical development of land within the county.
