The Fifield House architecture is typical of Pioneer homes in this area from the earliest part of the twentieth century. When the current owners discovered this house in 2001, it was only shortly after the death of Bertha “Bertie” Fifield, who had lived in this house since her birth in 1918.
As the home was purchased inclusive of the affairs and possessions of the family, the story of the Fifields is still rich and clearly preserved. The history of a struggling rural family in Clark County has been saved in this house, and in the family’s twenty quilts, hand-written letters, old Valentines, photographs, clothes and rocking chairs.
