This house is a fine example of outstanding work of a local designer/ builder. The main building is a 1.5 story wood-framed craftsman-style residence with a full-width porch with heavy squared. The .5 story level is covered by wood shingle. The accessory structure was used as Joseph Steffan’s cabinet shop.
The interior of the house has many original elements still intact. The light fixtures in the entry way, living and dining room are original. The entryway has a bench, French doors opening to the living room and mission style newel post. The dining room woodwork includes the plate rail, baseboards, wainscoting, a long window seat under the windows, and function pocket doors between the dining and living room. One closet has longer drawers assumed to be a dress drawer used by women to lay dresses out flat.
