Vancouver, WA – A public hearing is set to start at 10 a.m. June 19 for the Board of Clark County Commissioners to consider Planning Commission recommendations for changes to the Comprehensive Growth Management Plan.

Board Chair Steve Stuart said the commissioners will hear public testimony until 4 p.m., break for dinner, and then continue the hearing at 6 p.m. The hearing will be on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver.

Planning Commission recommendations call for numerous changes to the “Preferred Alternative” approved by the Board in October 2006 as the basis for a Final Environmental Impact Statement and Capital Facilities Plan.

Changes recommended by the Planning Commission could affect the future location of urban growth boundaries and zoning on numerous properties within the new boundaries.

Property owners and others may view a map titled “June 2007 Planning Commission Recommendation” on the third floor of the Public Service Center, starting at 10 a.m. June 15. The map also will be posted on the county Web site as soon as possible.

Please watch for additional updates and announcements about further action on urban growth boundaries, zoning in newly designated urban areas, and written planning policies. For more information, please visit the county Web site at www.clark.wa.gov/longrangeplan/review/ or call (360) 397-2280 ext. 4558.
