2nd half 2009 property taxes due Monday, November 2
Doug Lasher, Clark County Treasurer, stated that second-half 2009 property taxes are due on Monday, November 2, because October 31 falls on a Saturday this year. “If you have not received your 2009 second-half tax statement or have lost it, you can visit our Web site at www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer or call 397-2252 for a duplicate statement.”
Taxpayers also have the ability to pay property taxes using a credit card on our web site only. Washington State statute requires a convenience fee to be charged. The convenience fee is 2.5% of the total amount owing.
Second-half 2009 only property tax payments may be made at First Independent Banks, and the payment must be accompanied by an original current-year statement (not a duplicate). Some bank branches are open Monday through Saturday giving taxpayers an additional day during the week to make their payment. Taxpayers should check with a First Independent Bank local branch for specific hours and days.
Payments for delinquent taxes and assessments, however, must be either mailed or brought to the Treasurer’s Office. If mailing, please mail to the Clark County Treasurer, PO Box 9808, Vancouver, Washington 98666-8808. Tax payments must be postmarked by November 2, 2009, to avoid interest charges. Taxpayers are encouraged to use the return envelopes provided with their statements to mail their payments. “This is the most cost-effective method to process tax payments” Lasher stated.
