Vancouver, WA – The Board of Clark County Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Citizens ADA Advisory Committee. Application deadline is 5 p.m., Dec. 7, 2009.

The committee ensures that County facilities, programs and activities meet standards set by the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and are accessible to everyone. The panel consists of four volunteers, the Clark County ADA compliance officer and a Clark County Community Development plans examiner.

Committee members should be available to assist in program and separately scheduled service reviews during regular business hours.

Members serve a two-year term beginning January 2010 and meet at 1:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Additional information and committee bylaws are available on the Clark County Web site at http://www.clark.wa.gov/ada/index.html.

To be considered, applicants should submit a resume and/or letter of interest describing why you are interested in serving, what unique perspectives you will bring to the committee, and any experiences or activities you have had that will lend diversity to the panel. Send it to Jennifer Clark, Board of Clark County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, Wa. 98666-5000; fax (360) 397-6058; e-mail: jennifer.clark@clark.wa.gov.
