Vancouver, WA – Clark County had snowplow crews and other workers back out at 4 a.m. today as temperatures slowly rise following Tuesday’s snowstorm.

Many of the county’s primary routes have been plowed, although significant snow might remain at higher elevations and on residential streets that don’t receive the same level of attention as arterials.

Garbage and recycling collection remains on schedule today. Collection could be delayed in hilly areas, but Waste Connections expects to get to all areas as weather conditions improve.

The county got an early start on the storm and pretreated roads with a salt brine deicer long before the first flakes appeared Tuesday afternoon.

Clark County had its crews out plowing by mid-afternoon. The county can deploy as many as 40 trucks prepped with plows, chains and sanding gravel.

The forecast calls for a warming trend throughout the day, with potentially heavy rain rolling in with the start of 2010.
