Vancouver, WA - Clark County’s Regional Support Network (RSN) and its community partners have joined Mental Health America, the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare and their national partners to observe Mental Health Month in May. Events are held each year aimed at raising awareness and understanding of mental health and recovery.

In recognition of Mental Health Month, the RSN is hosting the following events:

Visions of Recovery Poster Contest
Open to anyone who lives or works in Southwest Washington, the Visions of Recovery poster contest seeks artwork from people of all ages and skill levels. Artwork and corresponding themes help reduce stigma associated with mental health and substance use issues.

More information, including contest rules and entry packet are available online at: www.clark.wa.gov/mental-health/recovery.

Mental Health Quiz Show - May 15, noon – 1 p.m.
The 5th annual Mental Health Quiz show offers team competition in a game-show format testing knowledge while informing attendees about mental health in a fun way. All participants receive a prize and lunch is provided. The event is co-hosted by Lifeline Connections and registration is not required.

Poster contest voting and resource fair - May 29, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Entries from the 2012 Visions of Recovery Poster Contest will be on display for public viewing. Participants are asked to vote for their favorite posters to help determine contest winners.

In addition, the event will feature resource materials about mental health, mental health services in Clark County and other related services.

All events will be held in the main conference rooms on the second floor of the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Boulevard, building 17. For more information please feel free to contact Melanie Green at (360) 397-2130 or Melanie.Green@clark.wa.gov.
