Vancouver, WA—If you’re 18 or younger and enjoy exercising and eating healthy foods, send us a video that shows what you’re doing! Clark County Public Health and Leadership Clark County are sponsoring the Clark County Youth Video Contest for the chance to win some gifts that will help keep you moving in 2012.

How to enter:

• Make a video two minutes or shorter showing creative ways you eat healthy food, get exercise, or help prevent other kids from becoming overweight or obese.
• Upload your video to YouTube and e-mail the link to ccletsmove@gmail.com by May 31.
• Be 18 or younger and live in Clark County

Five winners will be announced on June 16 at the Vancouver USA Kids Marathon. Categories include: ages 10 and under; 11 to 14; 15 to 18; Community; and People’s Choice. Winning videos will also be posted on Public Health and Leadership Clark County websites. For more information, contact Danielle Sparks at 397-8000 ext. 7388; danielle.sparks@clark.wa.gov.

The Youth Video Contest was designed to help raise awareness about childhood obesity. As obesity rates soar locally and nationally, children face a greater risk of developing chronic health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and high blood pressure.

Clark County Public Health has joined the national Let's Move campaign to increase community efforts to prevent childhood obesity. For more information, see http://www.letsmove.gov/.
