Vancouver, WA The Board of Clark County Commissioners (BOCC) is recruiting members to serve on the Clark County Substance Abuse Advisory Board (SAAB).

SAAB advises and makes recommendations to the BOCC and the Clark County Alcohol and Drug program manager regarding alcohol and drug addiction treatment needs and priorities in Clark County.

Board responsibilities may include making recommendations to the BOCC related to treatment and prevention services, report monitoring, community needs assessment, service prioritization, letters of support for community projects and grants, program planning, evaluation, community education and participation in outreach activities.

Clark County values ethnic, cultural, recovery and life experience representation on its advisory boards and strives to have representation from all of these communities. This diversity is vital to better identify treatment, intervention and prevention services needed in the county.

It is very important that prospective board members have a working knowledge or strong interest in learning the issues and needs related to alcohol and other drug addictions including treatment, prevention, crisis services, diversity issues, service capacity and resource development.

This is an opportunity for interested community members to give input on policy decisions related to publicly funded alcohol and drug prevention, intervention, and treatment services.

Positions are voluntary members may not be a provider of alcoholism and other drug addiction treatment services.

Those interested should submit a resume and letter of interest to the Board of Clark County Commissioners. The term is a three-year commitment.

Anyone interested in serving on the Substance Abuse Advisory Board and fits the criteria should send a letter and resume before June 29, 2012 to:
