Oct. 9 open house to highlight future improvements on NE 119th Street
Vancouver, WA – During the next four years, Clark County plans a series of projects to improve safety and ease congestion in the Northeast 119th Street corridor from Northeast 50th Avenue to Northeast 87th Avenue.
Anyone interested can learn more during an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Media Center at Prairie High School, 11500 N.E. 117th Ave.
The following upgrades are planned:
• Spring 2013: Intersection at Northeast 50th Avenue, signal, left-turn lane and improved sight distance.
• 2014: From Northeast 72nd Avenue to Curtin Creek, two eastbound lanes, two westbound lanes as far as 72nd Avenue, left-turn lanes and an updated signal.
• 2016, if funding allows: From Curtin Creek to Northeast 87th Avenue, two lanes in each direction, a signal, left-turn lane and U-turn capability.
The open house provides an opportunity to meet with county staff and ask questions. People can stop by at any time during the three-hour event.
