Hockinson, WA – A special meeting is set for 6:30 p.m.Tuesday, Oct. 16 for the public and local policymakers to discuss ideas for the future of rural lands in Clark County.

The Board of County Commissioners and county Planning Commission will hold the joint session at Hockinson High School, in the unincorporated area between Hockinson and Brush Prairie, at 16819 NE 159th St.

“We want to hear how rural residents view current and potential land uses to meet today’s needs and to plan for future generations,” said Board Chair Marc Boldt.

County planning staff will be on hand to present information about options available under Washington state law. These include different approaches to designing parcels for owners interested in creating family homesteads or preserving open space and sensitive areas by placing homesites in clusters.

A rural lands task force has made a number of recommendations. Information on the status of those recommendations will be available at the forum on Oct. 16.

If you have questions and are unable to attend, please visit the county website:
