Community gathering to focus on State of the County March 14
Vancouver, WA – Commissioner Steve Stuart, Chair of the Board of County Commissioners, along with commissioners Tom Mielke and David Madore, is scheduled to present the 2013 State of the County address on Thursday, March 14.
The free event will be open to the public 4 - 6 p.m. at Prairie High School, 11500 NE 117th Ave. Light refreshments will be available in the school commons at 4 p.m. Auditorium doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with formal presentations at 4:45 p.m.
The commissioners urge those attending to bring non-perishable food items for local food banks, continuing a practice in place for the past few years.
“We’re seeing encouraging signs in the local economy, but things are picking up slowly,” said Stuart. “Service providers continue to report an extraordinary need for food and other basics for families still struggling in tough times. The community has stepped up in the past and we hope you can help again.”
The commissioners will speak about public issues after they recognize volunteers for extraordinary efforts in 2012.
For those unable to attend, the program may be viewed later on CVTV (Clark-Vancouver Television) Channels 21 and 23.
