Vancouver, WA – My Senior Library, a new online senior resource of Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, will be the topic of presentation at the Tuesday, March 19, meeting of the Clark County Commission on Aging.

The meeting will be 4:30-6 p.m. in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. It is open to the public, and a chance for Clark County residents to share concerns about needs of local residents.

Kimberly McNally and Jennifer Studebaker of Fort Vancouver Regional Library District will present information about My Senior Library.

The site is part of the district’s newly revamped website and provides information on books, volunteering, community services, leisure time and area resources for seniors. To view the site, go to www.fvrl.org.

Kimberly McNally is a reference librarian at Vancouver Community Library, where she coordinates the Focus on 50+ program series for Baby Boomers and beyond. She also organizes the twice-weekly Job Lab, where she assists patrons who are searching for a job, writing resumes, and preparing for job interviews. Kimberly is a member of the communications subcommittee of the Commission on Aging.

Jennifer Studebaker is the virtual services coordinator for library district. She has spent the past year as part of a team revamping the district's website.

Following a national trend, Clark County’s population of 60+ is growing and projected to almost double by 2030. The Board of County Commissioners appointed the aging commission, an advocacy panel, to help the county and local cities implement an Aging Readiness Plan, which has 91 strategies about housing, transportation, recreation, lifestyle choices, support services and civic and social engagement.
