Food System Council seeks members to advocate for a healthy local food system

Vancouver, WA—The Clark County Food System Council is seeking new members to help increase and preserve access to safe, local and healthy food for Clark County residents.

Council members promote healthy foods in schools, encourage community garden programs, and support related projects. Members also encourage community education about the value of locally grown food.

Members represent nutrition and education, food security, waste management, resource conservation, agriculture, food distribution and community leaders. Council members must live or work in Clark County.

The council meets on the fourth Thursday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. at the 78th Street Heritage Farm, 1919 NE 78th St., Vancouver. Members are asked to commit to a two-year term that includes regular attendance at monthly meetings and active participation in subcommittees.
