Commissioners seek applicants for county Railroad Advisory Board

Vancouver, WA - The Board of County Commissioners is seeking an individual to fill an unexpired term on the volunteer Railroad Advisory Board. The term expires at the end of 2015.

The county owns a 33-mile, short-line railroad that runs from Vancouver to the Chelatchie Prairie area of north Clark County. The line is commonly known as the Lewis and Clark Railroad or Chelatchie Prairie Railroad.

The 15-member board advises the commissioners on how to achieve the best long-term return on its investment in the railroad.

Applicants should have:

Knowledge of transportation and railroad-related issues in Clark County.
A willingness to represent a broad spectrum of community interests.
A commitment to prepare for and attend a 4-6 p.m. meeting on the second Monday of each month.
