Vancouver, WA – Incentives for businesses to locate or expand in Clark County will be the focus of a public hearing before the Board of County Commissioners at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11.

The incentives are part of a “job creation resolution” that would waive building, development, engineering and traffic impact fees for non-residential development projects until unemployment in Clark County no longer exceeds the statewide average in Washington.

The hearing will be on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. At the same time, the Board will consider granting authority for the county to spend up to $3.6 million from its General Fund to cover a potential decrease in fee revenue in 2013 and 2014.

Under state law, the changes in funding would require an update to the six-year capital facilities plan for the county’s Comprehensive Growth Management Plan.

That’s why the Clark County Planning Commission also will be considering the job creation plan, to make related recommendations to the Board. Planning Commission action is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, also on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center.
