Clark County Youth Commission seeks to fill seven vacant seats

Vancouver, WA The Clark County Youth Commission, a leadership development program of 30 young people, is seeking seven representatives to fill its roster. The group, which serves as a voice for local youth, advises the Board of County Commissioners, county departments and community organizations.

One volunteer is needed to represent each of the following school districts: Ridgefield; Washougal; Hockinson; Evergreen; and Woodland. Applicants from Woodland must live in Clark County. Youth from any Clark County school district can apply for two open at-large positions reserved for individuals with no previous leadership experience.

The Youth Commission is seeking members reflective of the diversity of backgrounds and cultures in our community. Youth of varying backgrounds and abilities are encouraged to apply.

Youth Commission members range from 11-19. Eighteen members represent middle- and high-school students from each of the nine Clark County school districts. Twelve youth serve as at-large members. Each member serves a one-year term. Members must commit to two meetings a month and additional subcommittee work of at least eight hours per month.
