60+ Weatherization program

Project Energy Savings lawn signClark County and the City of Vancouver have been working with Clark Public Utilities for the past couple of years on a neighborhood weatherization program, called Project Energy Savings.

The program provides grants to moderate income households to reduce their energy costs by making needed weatherization improvements to their home.

The Aging Readiness Plan's Housing chapter (PDF) includes a strategy to assist older residents in reducing their energy costs by weatherizing homes.  It was an easy connection to focus this year's funding to a neighborhood that had a high ratio of 60+ households. The neighborhoods that are participating are Marrion, Burton Ridge and Forest Ridge in Central Vancouver.
