Supportive services

blood pressure checkServices improve the quality of life for our aging population and those who care for them by promoting well-being, safety and independence with dignity.  These services include the contributions of individuals, groups, and organizations working together to have sustainable and viable communities that support aging-in-place.

The Aging Readiness Plan identifies four challenges that the aging population face in staying independent within their homes and/or within their communities.

  1. Aging-in-place
  2. Support for your physical and mental health
  3. Caregiver support
  4. Information and communication

Supportive Services Work Committee

To combat these challenges in our communities, the Supportive Services committee is working on the strategies listed in Chapter 4 - Supporting Elder Health, Well-Being and Independence (PDF) of the Aging Readiness Plan.
