Aging Readiness Plan
Supportive Services |
|
Services improve the quality of life for our aging population and those who care for them by promoting well-being, safety and independence with dignity. These services include the contributions of individuals, groups, and organizations working together to have sustainable and viable communities that support aging-in-place.
The Aging Readiness Plan identifies four challenges that the aging population face in staying independent within their homes and/or within their communities.
- Aging-in-place
- Support for your physical and mental health
- Caregiver support
- Information and communication
To combat these challenges in our communities, the Commission on Aging will begin working on the strategies listed in Chapter 4 - Supporting Elder Health, Well-Being and Independence (PDF) of the Aging Readiness Plan.
Once the commission is initiated, the group will determine which strategies they will begin working on in 2012.
