|
Summer 2010
The Board of County Commissioners has recognized the economic challenges facing businesses and residents today, and has adopted economic incentives that would encourage redevelopment within the Highway 99 Subarea Plan starting August 1, 2010. More economic incentives are planned for 2010 and 2011.
Project summary
With help from residents, businesses, and property owners, Clark County has developed a subarea plan to revitalize Highway 99 and neighborhoods nearby. The Highway 99 Subarea Plan was adopted by the Board of Clark County Commissioners on December 16, 2008. The plan includes a vision for the area and targeted projects that can be built in the next six years. The plan also includes a design framework based on general principles (PDF) established by the Board of Clark County Commissioners.
The Board of County Commissioners held a hearing on the design standard code for the Highway 99 subarea, on December 15, 2009. The code was adopted by the board and it will become part of the county's Unified Development Code Title 40 on August 1, 2010.
This Hybrid Form-Based code reflects the goals and policies of the adopted Highway 99 Plan, community input from various public workshops, and insight from other form-based codes throughout the United States.
