Youth Achievement Awards set for June, nominations accepted

Vancouver, WA – The 16th annual Youth Achievement Awards celebration is scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2014, and nominations of youth ages 11-19 are being accepted.
Coordinated by the Clark County Youth Commission under the guidance of Clark County’s Department of Community Services, the awards recognize county youth who have demonstrated achievement in any of 12 categories. The categories are: arts; career development; citizenship; courage; education; environmental stewardship; family life; inspiration; leadership; personal achievement; sportsmanship; and, tolerance. Up to 300 young people will receive an award.
Anyone may submit nominations, and youth may nominate themselves. Nomination forms are now online and may be found at www.clark.wa.gov/youth-family/index.html.

Nominations must be postmarked no later than Friday, April 18, 2014. Forms also may be faxed to (360) 397-2164.

The Youth Commission is a leadership development program and advisory board established by the Board of County Commissioners in April 1998. Members ages 11-19 from throughout Clark County provide a youth-oriented point of view to the work of the Board of County Commissioners, county departments and community organizations.
