Auditor seeks proposals for vehicle, boat licensing in east County
Paul Harris, Auditor's Office
Vancouver, WA Citizens may submit proposals for a contract to license motor vehicles and boats in east Clark County. Business proposals are due by 4:30 p.m. June 13.
Detailed application packets are online at www.clark.wa.gov/auditor/auto/index.html. Packets also are available at Clark County Auto License Department, 1408 Franklin St.
A panel including County Auditor Greg Kimsey will review proposals and recommend one to the state Department of Licensing to be a subagent in East Camas or Washougal. The state must then appoint the subagent to contract with the County Auditor.
Examples of subagent services include:
Preparing and processing ownership titles and title transfers.
Processing annual license renewals.
Preparing and processing registration documents.
Preparing and issuing certain permits and special registrations.
Subagents must be open to the public at least nine hours every weekday and four hours every Saturday.
We have nine subagents in Clark County. They are a critical part of our ongoing effort to make licensing convenient for all county residents, said Kimsey.
Six copies of each proposal and application must be submitted to Clark County General Services, Public Service Center, Sixth Floor, 1300 Franklin St. They may not be submitted by fax or electronic transmittal.
