Health care enrollment

Washington Healthplanfinder

Although Qualified Health Plan Open Enrollment is closed, some individuals (listed below) qualify for year-round coverage. The next Qualified Health Plan Open Enrollment is November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015.

The following individuals may enroll in health care coverage year-round:

  • Those who qualify for or are renewing Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage
  • American Indians/Alaska Natives who are enrolled members of a federally-recognized Tribe or Alaska Native Corporation
  • Those enrolling in the Small Business Health Options Program offered in Clark and Cowlitz counties

Also, certain life events such as getting married, having a child, moving to a new area or losing health coverage may qualify you for a Special Enrollment period. If you‘re an existing Washington HealthPlanFinder customer, you can report a change through your Washington Healthplanfinder account. If you‘re a new customer, you can apply now to check if you qualify. In-Person-Assisters are available to help you enroll.

If you do not qualify for year-round enrollment and you wish to enroll in health coverage before the November 15 Open Enrollment period, you can purchase a private plan.

Community enrollment events

If you qualify for Apple Health (Medicaid) or meet other criteria listed above, several community enrollment events, listed below, can help you get covered. Just look for the Washington HealthPlanFinder table. What is Washington Healthplanfinder ?
Washington Healthplanfinder lets Washington residents compare and enroll in health insurance. No one will be denied coverage because they are sick or have a pre-existing condition.

Depending on how much you earn, you may qualify for free coverage, or for tax credits or financial help to pay for copays and premiums. See estimated cost for families.

How do I enroll or find assistance nearby?

  • Enroll online at: www.wahealthplanfinder.org.
  • For assistance by phone, please call 855-WAFINDER (855-923-4633).

In-Person Assisters

Certified In-Person Assisters can give residents impartial information to help them compare plans, review health insurance options that best fits their needs, and help them enroll. NOTE: Certified In-Person Assisters do not charge for their services. Do not accept services from people who offer to help you enroll for a fee and do not give them access to your personal information.
