If you are not a United States citizen and you have an emergency medical condition, you may qualify for free medical care through the Alien Emergency Medical Program (AEM).
Do I qualify?
To qualify for AEM, you must have an emergency medical condition, be a low-income (below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level) immigrant or non-U.S. citizen and one of the following:
- Younger than 18.
- In a family with dependent children.
- 65 or older.
- Blind or disabled (must be unable to work for at least one year).
- Pregnant.
- Ineligible for regular medical coupons.
