Open enrollment to purchase a Qualified Health Plan through Washington Healthplanfinder extended to
April 17
While open enrollment to purchase a Qualified Health Plan through Washington Healthplanfinder has closed, you may still be eligible to get enrolled. If you had trouble getting enrolled before the Feb. 15 deadline, or you didn’t know about the tax penalty for not having health insurance, you can still sign up. The special enrollment period to enroll in 2015 coverage will continue until April 17.

If you would like to take advantage of the special enrollment period, it’s important that you complete an application at wahealthplanfinder.org and then call the Customer Support Center at 1-855-923-4633.

Under the federal Affordable Care Act, a Qualified Health Plan is certified by the Health Insurance Marketplace, provides essential coverage, follows established limits on cost-sharing and meets other requirements. Those who do not enroll in a health insurance plan may face fines, as explained on the federal HealthCare.gov website. You may check to see if you qualify for free or low-cost coverage at www.wahealthplanfinder.org.
