Food System Council seeks members to promote local food

Vancouver, WA – The Clark County Food System Council, a citizen advisory group to local governments and community groups, is seeking new members interested in promoting a sustainable community food system. Council members help increase and preserve access to safe, local and healthful food for Clark County residents.
Members represent sectors of the food system, including public health, nutrition, education, food security, waste management, resource conservation, agriculture, food distribution and community leadership. Council members must live or work in Clark County.
The council meets 4-6 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings are at the county’s 78th Street Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St. Members are asked to commit to a two-year term, regularly attend monthly meetings and participate in council subcommittees.
