Project number: 321022
Project limits: St. Johns Road to NE Andresen Road
Current phase: March 2009 - Road construction underway
Project type: Widening existing two-lane road
Project update
Road closed to through traffic March 9, 2009 - news release
Project description
This project will widen the existing two travel lanes of Northeast 88th Street and add a center turn lane, bicycle lanes and sidewalks. Currently the roadway has two lanes and a narrow shoulder.
The project will also improve the electronics of three existing traffic signals and one railroad crossing signal. Work will also include adding facilities to manage stormwater runoff from the expanded road surface.
The road will be closed to through traffic, but remain open for access to local residences and businesses.
Why is Clark County doing this project?
As is, this road does not meet currently county road standards for the traffic loads it carries. This project will bring the road up to standards and also improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety.
