Betts Bridge Construction Photos

Betts Bridge
Betts Bridge has spanned Salmon Creek
since 1935. Its replacement opened in February 2007.
The old bridge was removed this past summer. Cranes lifted the bridge out to protect Salmon Creek from debris.

A plastic liner held Salmon Creek during the summer while the cotractor built new bridge footings on the stream bank By October 2006 the bridge footings were in place and installation of girder began, reconnecting the stream banks.

By November, the contractor had poured concrete to form the bridge deck and side barriers.  In January the bridge road approaches and other related road improvements were beginning to take shape.

The new Betts Bridge opened officially on Friday, February 16. There is still some finishing work to complete.
