Clark County recognized that the bridge closure and related construction would have an impact on residents, motorists and area businesses. Therefore, the county established the Klineline Outreach Advisory Group in April 2007 to represent a diverse range of community interests regarding construction impacts caused by the bridge replacement project.
Members met monthly for 18 months prior to and during the project. They shared knowledge of community needs and provided access to both formal and informal stakeholder communications networks. As a group, members worked with county project staff to develop productive strategies and solutions to reduce construction impacts.
With the bridge opening in September 2008, this group disbanded as a formal entity. Clark County leaders and staff appreciate their service on behalf of the community.
