In April 2008, Clark County Public Works hired a contractor to construct a new bridge to replace the existing, and closed, structure. The new bridge, spanning Salmon Creek at the same location, will have four travel lanes, a center median, bicycle lanes, curb/gutter and sidewalks. The contractor demolished the old bridge and the new bridge is taking shape. In June, the contractor installed the new bridge girders. In mid July the contractor poured the new bridge deck. During August, the contractor poured the bridge sidewalls with an arch-like appearance. By early September, sidewalks and road approaches were in place. Final paving on Highway 99 is now underway. Visit the Project Photo Gallery for month-by-month construction photos.
