Projects under construction

  • Camp Bonneville - East of NE 232nd Avenue about six miles north of Camas.
  • Cougar Creek Bridge replacement - NE Washougal River Road at Mile Post 5.1. Project will require closing NE Washougal River Road at Cougar Creek for approximately 15 weeks. Bid opening scheduled for June 2012, followed by the start of construction in early July 2012.

  • Daybreak Bridge - Across the East Fork of the Lewis River on NE Daybreak Road. Seismically strengthen bridge to withstand earthquakes. Construction bids scheduled for opening in June 2012. Work to be completed by September 2012.

  • NW Pacific Highway stabilization - NW Pacific Highway, west of NW Bolen Street near Jenny Creek.
  • NE 88th Street - NE Highway 99 east to NE St. Johns Road.
  • Padden Parkway/Andresen Road stormwater facility - Northeast corner of intersection. Construction of a stormwater facility to serve the existing area and further treat runoff from the Padden Parkway-Andresen Road intersection. Construction bids scheduled for opening in May 2012. Work to be completed in fall 2012, with plantings in late 2012 or early 2013.

  • Salmon Creek Interchange Project - At junction of Interstate 5 and Interstate 205. Clark County Public Works and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) are partners. The $133 million project makes long-awaited improvements at the I-5/I-205 Interchange and along 134th and 139th streets. Construction is expected to last until 2014.

Projects in design

  • NE 10th Avenue - NE 10th Avenue, NE 141st Street north to NE 149th Street.
    Improve operations and coordination of traffic signals. Bid opening scheduled for December 2012. Work to be completed by October 2013.

  • NE 99th Street traffic signal optimization - NE 99th Street, near Interstate 5. Improve operations and coordination of traffic signals. Will be bundled with the NE Padden Parkway/Andresen Road traffic signal optimization project. Bids opened in December 2011. Work to be completed by October 2012.

  • NE 119th Street NE 119th Street, NE 72nd Avenue to NE 87th Avenue.
  • NE 179th Street NE 179th Street, NE Delfel Road to NE 15th Avenue. Construction has been postponed due to budget constraints.
  • NE Padden Parkway/Andresen Road traffic signal optimization - Along NE Padden Parkway west of Interstate 205 and NE Andresen Road, from Padden Parkway south to NE 63rd Street. Improve operations and coordination of traffic signals. Will be bundled with the NE 99th Street traffic signal optimization project. Construction scheduled to begin in May 2012, with work completed in fall 2012.

  • Pleasant Valley Bridge - Across Salmon Creek near NE Salmon Creek Street and Northeast 50th Avenue. Work to seismically strengthen bridge to withstand earthquakes and repair “scour” damage, a type of water erosion that undermines bridge piers.
    Seismic work completed in summer 2011; scour repair scheduled for summer 2013.

Projects recently completed

  • Bosco Farm Neighborhood Park East side of NE St. Johns Road between NE Petticoat Lane on the south and NE 39th Street on the north.
  • Chelatchie Prairie Rail with Trail First one-mile segment along the county-owned 33-mile Chelatchie Prairie Railroad was completed in December 2011.
  • Encore Stormwater FacilityNortheast 152nd Street and NE 20th Avenue in Whipple Creek watershed.
  • JC Ward Bridge - Across Salmon Creek on NE 182nd Avenue near NE Risto Road.
    Seismically strengthen bridge to withstand earthquakes and repair “scour” damage, a type of water erosion that undermines bridge piers.
  • Luke Jensen Sports Park North side of NE 78th Street, west of NE St. Johns Road.
  • NE 99th Street - NE 99th Street, from a block east of NE 117th Avenue/SR 503 to NE 137th Avenue. Widened road to include center-turn lane and bicycles lanes and sidewalks. New rain gardens now collect and treat polluted storm runoff, along with pervious pavement on sidewalks that allows stormwater to soak though the surface and into the ground.
  • Upper Whipple Creek Habitat Protection - NE Union Road upstream to approximately NE 166th Street
