Vancouver, WA – Fleet Services Manager Scott Rood has reached the highest level of achievement in his field after two years of work.

Rood, who started as fleet services manager in January 2010, recently completed the National Association of Fleet Administrators' Certified Automotive Fleet Manager Program, the oldest and largest certi¬fication program of its type.

The program covers principles and best practices in asset and business management, fleet information, finances, vehicle maintenance, professional development, risk and fuel.

Participants must complete the program in three years. Once they have graduated, they are required to recertify every five years to maintain their designation.

Fleet Services, a division of Clark County Public Works, maintains more than 700 vehicles, including passenger cars, light- and heavy-duty trucks, specialized construction and maintenance equipment, trailers and watercraft. The county also maintains more than 200 vehicles under contracts with other agencies.

“Scott is responsible for purchasing, maintaining, repairing and fueling a large fleet,” said Public Works Director Peter Capell. “Through the certification process, he has demonstrated proficiency in managing a major investment for the public.”

The National Association of Fleet Administrators includes members responsible for more than 3.5 million vehicles.
