Engineering and construction manager to lead Public Works
Mark McCauley, County Administrator
Vancouver, WA – The Board of County Commissioners has appointed Heath Henderson, engineering and construction division manager for Public Works, to be the department’s interim director and county engineer.
The appointment is effective Thursday and for up to six months. During that time, the board will consider plans for naming a permanent director and county engineer.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Henderson joined Clark County in 1998 after working three years at the city of Vancouver. He worked for Clark County as a civil engineer, environmental permitting manager and design section manager before being named engineering and construction division manager in June 2007.
Henderson earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Maine.
He is a member of the American Public Works Association and serves on the awards committee for both the state and national public works associations. Since 2005, he has served on the board of the Oregon State University Civil Engineering Co-op Internship Program.
A Vancouver resident, Henderson volunteers as an assistant youth hockey coach. He enjoys spending time with his family and a wide array of outdoor sports.
